I think I can say that every piece I’ve ever done has its roots in the natural world—the textures and colors, the shapes and shadows, and most importantly, the emotional pull. I paint because I have to reveal what I see for others to interpret.

Gregg Simpson is an internationally-exhibited and recognized artist with roots in surrealism and abstraction. He is also hugely influenced by the landscapes surrounding him on his home on Bowen Island near Vancouver, BC, and what he sees on his travels.
